Snow Hunting

It's no secret that one of the cool things about California is that you can be in the desert one minute, swimming in the ocean the next, and then in a little over an hour, be sledding in fresh snow. Arrowhead is close and easy to get to, yet it seems like a far away place. Grand mountains, big blue sky... and the year-round folk that seem to never come down to sea-level. It is a confusing lot. For instance, should we be scared to go the the 7-Eleven disguised as a quaint ski chalet at night? We were thrilled to see that Twin Peaks was a town on the way... Wishful, and possible thinking that David Lynch got the name from here. No doubt he would have plenty to pull from for inspiration. The "village" is seemingly charming, but the air is slightly off and filled with characters you couldn't make up. A fascinating mix of friendly and shady with some seriously creepy at times. We can't wait to go back.
